Inclement Weather Policy

While Elevate Dance Studio follows Williamson County School closures, they may remain open if inclement weather is not a concern in our specific area. Please look out for an email or text from Katie if inclement weather is a concern! Every effort will be made to make up missed classes due to inclement weather at the end of the session, but are not guaranteed.

Cancellation and Refund Policies

Should you need to cancel your enrollment:

  • Cancellations before the session begins — tuition will be refunded minus the $25 registration fee.

  • Cancellations after your first class – tuition will not be refunded, but funds already paid can be applied toward a future session, minus the $25 registration fee and Music Together Service fee ($42.50).

  • Refunds/prorated tuition are not provided for missed classes due to personal reasons (illness, appointments, etc.).

  • If the class is cancelled for the session by the director (i.e., due to insufficient enrollment), all fees and tuition will be refunded.

  • Class Pack Refunds/Credits (applies to Summer Sessions only): Refunds or credits will not be given if you attend fewer classes than you enrolled in.

  • All other refunds/credits due to extenuating circumstances are approved on a case by case basis at the discretion of the director.

Make Up Classes

If you have a conflict that means you will miss your scheduled class time, you are welcome to attend a different class if you are able! Just call/email/text Katie ahead of time! Families are responsible for scheduling their own makeup classes and communicating that plan via email or text with the director.

By enrolling in a Music Together class at First Notes Music, a licensed Music Together center, you agree that any information you provide will be shared with Music Together Worldwide (MTW). Classroom Policies and Procedures

  • Please do your best to arrive to class on time – it will make your child's adjustment easier, and we can get started making music together right away!

  • Please leave your personal items outside the studio— coats and bags can be placed on the hooks along the wall, and water bottles and shoes can be placed in the cubbies outside the classroom door. Please do not bring snacks or drinks inside the studio, however, breast and bottle feeding babies are welcome to feed during class.

  • Please do not attend class if your child is ill! Please help us minimize the spread of germs. The best defense against catching an illness is to wash both your hands and your child’s hands before and after class. At this stage of development it is expected that children will put toys and props in their mouth. This is okay, however, please keep track of what goes in the mouth, and put the object to wet box so that it can be property disinfected after class.

  • We all want to capture the sweet moments in our kids lives, including during class! It is okay to snap a picture or a short video, but please do not allow it to become a distraction. Please ask other parents permission before posting photos including their child to social media.

  • If you have an older child who is off school and you wish to bring him/her along to class on a day they have off, feel free to do so as long as you notify the teacher first. School-age kids are always a pleasure to have and such good role-models for the little ones! Siblings under 5 who are coming regularly need to be registered. Often we have room in classes for you to bring a friend. A family can try a class for free with no obligation. Invite a friend to class early in the semester in case they’d like to complete the session with us! Please notify the teacher before bringing friends though, to make sure there is room in the class.

  • A child’s job in Music Together® Mixed-ages class is simply to explore and enjoy the music! If your child is not engaging perfectly in each activity, that’s okay! In fact, it’s understood that children learn best through play, and what might not look like learning may be exactly that. Please allow your child the freedom to move and explore throughout the class, provided they are doing so safely.

  • A grown-up’s job in class is to just join in and enjoy the fun! Your active participation, in class and at home, is the key to your children learning and growing musically. All children have the natural ability to learn to sing in tune, keep a beat, and participate with confidence and pleasure in music and movement, provided that their early environment supports such learning. Young children learn best from the grownups they love: caregivers don’t need to have musical skills, just a desire to play and have fun with their children!

  • If your child is having a hard time during class, that’s okay! We are all caregivers to young ones, and understand that our children are still learning. Please remind your child to help maintain a safe environment by not running (unless used as a musical activity during a song), no throwing instruments, no hitting/kicking others, etc. Families are always welcome to take a break in the lobby if needed.

  • There are lots of ways to support your child’s musical learning at home! Try playing your music at home or in the car as part of your regular routine, like during rest time or play time. You can use the song book to help you remember the songs or to play along if you play an instrument. You can also use the songbook during storytime as a regular book, and sing your favorites as you go along.

  • The online Family Music Zone® at Music Together’s website (www.musictogether.com/familymusiczone), and the free Music Together App, "Hello Everybody," give you ways to get the music wherever you are. Sign up for your Music Together account, enter your unique code from your songbook and you will be able to access all your music, videos, and educational resources straight from the professionals at Music Together.
